Creative blocks are a common but unwelcome guest for most artists, triggering questions of worth, meaning, and exasperated exclamations of, “What on earth am I doing?” Join artist and creative facilitator Joanne Dennis for a conversation about reconnecting to meaning and purpose in your creative work, reminding you why you started creating in the first place. Come meet a group of fellow artists, or anyone struggling with such questions, to open up new inspirations and help you move forward in your creative projects. This talk will include group exercises that expand the mind and help remove those nasty, irritating blocks to your creative process.
Joanne Dennis is a Canadian Artist and Creative Facilitator living in Surrey, British Columbia. She paints vibrant abstracts and representational landscapes that communicate a diversity of sensual adventures and strong spiritual connections. She is also an adult educator, delivering art classes at the Newton Cultural Centre. Her desire is to communicate new ideas and concepts through her art, and to share in the creative inspiration that connects us all. To see her gallery and upcoming events, visit joannedennis.ca.
There will be time for questions and conversation during and following the talk. The event concludes by 9pm. Refreshments are provided.
This event is presented by the Surrey Art Gallery Association in partnership with the Surrey Art Gallery, and with support from the Arts Council of Surrey.
